Here’s The Best Advice You Will Get All Year

A new year stretches out before us, winking optimism, opportunity, freshness and renewal. And to help you make this a great year, I am going to share some brilliant advice I have just received. It is a gem- and if you deliver on it, will make 2014 an outstanding year. Promise. Here it is.

I love the ‘fresh start’ that January brings. It lifts my spirits, and makes me feel ‘anything is possible.’ I plan accordingly! Sadly, history tells me that by about March, I will have sunk back into the depths of deadlines, ‘to do’ lists, pressure, and a string of broken promises with myself. I lose sight of what drives, inspires and gives me purpose. But not this year. No, no, no! You see- I read a piece of advice while on my break that I know will make this year a triumph of mindfulness and happiness. It can for you too. If you’re up for it. Here’s that gem.

The One Shocking Thought I Want To Leave You With This Year

Another year draws to a close. Another year of learning, growth, hard work. As you head to end of year breaks though, remember this powerful message from me to you. Beware. It might shock.

Yes, yes. I know. My usual headline. “Shocked me…changed my life….secret to success….blah blah blah…..” I do struggle a bit to come up with new ways to capture attention and get you to click on, to read on, to make a comment, to share. But here’s the point. Close to 7,000 people receive Possums every week. And on average, around 3,500 of you actually read the bloody thing- every week. From all over the world.

So as you head to the break, one final thought from me.

Read This If You Want To Keep Your Job This Christmas

I was reminded about this threat when visiting the Hunter Valley wine district this weekend to see the amazing Leonard Cohen in concert. As I relaxed over coffee the following morning, I looked up to see a message on the café wall. It kind of shocked me, because it reminded me of one of the most dangerous threats that December holds. I have seen many careers implode because of it, many great client relationships disappear. And we must make damned sure no-one makes this mistake on our team. Easier said than done, but it can be done. Here it is:
